Don is happiest backing up various groups of any style, because he is informed by his background in classical, jazz, country, and rock. He is often called upon at the last moment, and part of that is because of his strong sight-reading abilities and comfort on-stage.

CROSSWINDS

Formed in 1976, this group features Ross Gualco on piano, Don Kane on bass and guitar and clarinet, and Gerry Kennett on drums and vocals. The group has played various local venues and clubs and has backed local celebrity singers including Val Diamond, here pictured. Contact the leader, Ross Gualco, for details about hiring.

BIG BANDS

Don plays with The Johnny Cats, The S.F. Bay Jazz Ensemble, The Los Gatos -Saratoga Big Band, The NASA-Ames Big Band and others.

NEW TRIO

Most recently formed, the trio is still searching for a name and plays only occasional gigs at this point.
